Professional Development Workshop

This workshop is designed to help students prepare for their careers with practical tools and resources. It includes a LinkedIn 101 session led by guest speaker Tia Upshaw, a Co-op & Career Services crash course on resumes and interviews, and an overview of Project Connect job opportunities. Students will also participate in mock interviews, get free professional headshots, and have the chance to order business cards for networking.

This semi-formal mixer brings students together with community members, employers, mentors, and entrepreneurs. Attendees will use color-coded cups to show what they’re seeking—whether it's a job, a mentee, or a collaboration—helping spark targeted and meaningful conversations. Plus, a networking bingo game and door prize add a fun and approachable touch to professional mingling.

Entrepreneur Roundtable

This intimate event brings student entrepreneurs together with local founders and mentors for an open circle conversation. Students can share their business ideas (or early-stage curiosities), get advice, and hear real stories of entrepreneurship from mentors like Tia Upshaw, Keith Skiffington, and Steve Stairs. It’s also a great moment to get support applying for the Build a Business program and access $500 in funding and mentorship.

Fireside Chat: Social Entrepreneurship & Community Impact

This fireside chat features leaders in social entrepreneurship, nonprofits, and student-led community initiatives. Panelists will share lessons learned from launching impact-driven projects, and students will be invited to ask questions and join the conversation. Launchbox will also announce the Community Impact Fund and how students can apply, plus promote the chance to attend and pitch at the Impact X Conference at StFX.

Entrepreneurship Workshop with Tia Upshaw

This hands-on session is all about building your business with confidence. Led by Launchbox’s Entrepreneur-in-Residence Tia Upshaw, the workshop will cover business planning, pitch structure, and presentation tips. Students will also practice delivering a 1-minute elevator pitch and get real-time feedback, followed by a Q&A where they can ask questions about their business challenges, goals, and next steps.
