EIR

Acadia Entrepreneurs In Residence (EIRs) are seasoned alumni entrepreneurs who bring their knowledge and experience back to Acadia to help support entrepreneurship. Students can book a meeting with any of the EIRs using their booking link or by stopping by the Launchbox during their open office hours. EIRs can share wisdom around starting a business, starting a career, launching a product, growing a customer base, raising funds, and more.

Innovation Ambassadors

Innovation Ambassadors are student volunteers who help with the running of Launchbox. Innovation Ambassadors are on-campus champions of entrepreneurship, promoting Launchbox programs and events, attending events, and spending time in the space to meet with student entrepreneurs. Additionally, Innovation Ambassadors each take on special projects based on their interests and skillsets to help move Launchbox forward. Examples include marketing, surveying, data and analysis, event organizing, networking, and website development.

Mentors

Launchbox Mentors work with students during events to help them with their projects. Mentors bring diverse experience in multiple professional backgrounds to the table to help coach students. Examples include mentoring student startups during Pitch Perfect the bi-annual Pitch Competition, Kickstart AI a AI prototyping challenge, and more!

Student Grants

Launchbox offers student grants to entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial groups at Acadia to help them advance their projects. Launchbox can provide up to a maximum of $1,000 to help students launch a product, travel to a conference, build a prototype, and more. Contact brendan.macneil@acadiau.ca for more.

The Path

The Path is a student startup incubator operating across the Maple League of Universities (Acadia, St. FX, Bishop’s, and Mt. A). The program provides a pathway for students interested in entrepreneurship to develop a business, connect with the ecosystem, and learn the requisite skills and tools to succeed entrepreneurially. Student entrepreneurs are able to join academically through an entrepreneurship course or co-curricularly on their own time.
